The museum is actually a group of 4 buildings and lovely garden behind the fence, separated the house out of the busy road with white and red brown wooden gate. There is a wooden sign board with short information of this Bangkok museum. The place offers an insight into the lifestyles of middle-class Bangkokians during World War II period. The first building was an ancient house built in 1937. It was a heritage of Arjan Waraporn Surawadee, one of Surawadee family members, who has preserved a lot of goods and antiques and started to make it as a private museum. After that, the house ownership was transferred to the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority in 2004. The second house was once a Clinic and house of Dr. Francis Christian, the stepfather of the owner but he died before move in. The third building is an exhibition of Bangkok’s photography collection  and the last building is now a library of the house.
