Let’s escape the crowded zone for a while and enjoy one of the most ever green urban riverside. We represent you guys one of the best things to do in Bangkok for a one day trip in Bangkok. Today’s Activity is a Biking journey in “Bang Krachao”, which is bicycle lovers’ Bangkok travel attraction known as one of “Urban Oasis of Asia” recommended spots by Time Magazine 2006.

You can see that there is a lot of hostels in Bangkok which locate near public transportation. Traveling by BKK metro or sky train instead of taxi is better choice.

It is also easier to buy tokens from the office box directly for a group travel. For our travel plan, we decide to take a metro, taxi and local speed boat to “Bangkrachao pier”.

Our one day trip in Bangkok started after everyone finished the breakfast. We walked together to get on the subway at the MRT Samyan station. It is awesome because it takes just a 5 minute-walk from the hostel on alley to the main road.

The estimated time traveling from MRT Samyan station to MRT Klong Tei station takes about 10-15 minutes. Then, we took a taxi to the Klong tei pier and switched to a small ferry speed boat which you’ll see more in Bangkok local canals. It takes 15-20 minutes from MRT Klongtei until Bangkrachao pier. On the way to Bangkrachao, you’ll be relax to the neighborhood along riverside’s view and the curve green landscape.

At Bangkrachao pier (or another name: “Wat Bangnampheng Pier” from the title of local temple next to the pier), you’ll see some local booth shops and their signs showing “Bicycles for rent”. We spent time checking the wheels, brake and gears, before picked up ones. The rental time depends on your choice. For example, an hour/ a half-day (few hours per day)/ or a full-day rate. Those rental rates from these booths are not that much different from each other’s. The best option is a full-day rent which you just return the bike before the evening (6-7 p.m.)
